Yes, I know, many, including myself, are stcicking with XP for now, but, love it or hate it, Vista is inevitable:

It occurs to me that microsoft has us consumers completely at its mercy. We are compelled to do its bidding, like it or not?

I'm not convinced. After using Vista, I decided I'll be sticking to XP for as long as possible. All those things are unneeded features in my opinion - don't fix what's not broken

Yes, I am also sticking with XP for at least a couple of years, and nothing in Vista is really "needed" But when I get a new computer, let's say 2 or 3 years from now, I will have no choice but to get Vista, mainly because Microsoft will be about to terminate support for XP

As you can see on this page (that should display in your system language)

main support for XP is ending April 14 2009...exactly 2 years from now

I tried my friend's version and couldn't stand it. Mark me as staying with XP for now

Everyone with half a clue is gonna stick with XP until the first service pack, most of us have been around the block before and don't like being used as a guinea pig.

The idea of anything from MS being secure brings me great amusement.Remember XP we had to add Service Pack 1 then SP 2 plus security fixes every month.Internet Explorer is a malware magnet and IE7 has so many issues it isn't even a joke.
