I like it! I think it's a great idea

I do get concerned that one of my threads might be removed due to a complaint...and
others would feel the same

Question then is how to determine what goes into the public area and what is hidden
behind passes...Personally it was the attraction of the contents of the Candy Shop that
got me involved with the forum

Ok Then,
weed the non participating lurkers and leechers, excluding gold paying memberships. Busting sites to entertain the gold paying members and well deserving contribiting members is what it's all about. Thats why theres a promotion system here. If you don't contribute or participate, you will be eventually found out, warned and if it continues probably excused.

Posters would have free choice where to put up their material, of course.

It's not the problem about threads being deleted. If someone is not respecting the rules about what can be posted, then it is normal for their threads to be deleted.

It's the fact that obviously we have reporters here. They report links, in my case to RapidShare, demanding that links to be removed.

I post my stuff on one other board only, where we have VIP area with like 30 members, who are also participating. There is no way they are reporting.

Suddenly, when I posted few things here, my links were quickly deleted from RapidShare.

That's why I'm talking here. It's not the problem whether I'll gather points or not (I'm gathering them on other boards with warez and stuff). It's the fact that we deffinitely have unwanted persons here. Whether they are porn site admins, or someone who works for them, I'm sure you will agree they are not welcome here.

Or, should I say, in order not to offend anyone, they are welcome, but they don't have to see everything we have to offer

Over and out

Exactly the same problem, entire threads have been removed because they were "dmca" reported, see the ever growing ban list of sites.

The fact is that it is too easy for someone (website owners)to register and immediately have access to everything they wish to report, being only single links or the more agressive ones make formal complaints "dmca" against a site.

Either case, you have a good point for doing something about it.

Yup,

with this we would narrow down the list of banned sites, and @ the same time keep good posts in level 2 candy shop.

And roflmao for veteran's idea that level 1 candy should only contain nude cartoons. Ahahaha

I think this is a great idea to improve our site in a positive way.

I personally haven't contributed to the Candy Shop, although I probably will in the future. Not because things will be changing, but because I want to give back to those who have worked so hard to make this site what it is.

However, I also don't leech. I respect the amount of time those who have contributed have put in.

The 2 areas sounds interesting to me. With the larger more important threads in the new area.

Agreed, we need to make sure to keep this aspect and choice available to newer members.

I'm not trying to single you out Vet, I just have a reply to this common quote and you happened to say it.

I once heard someone say that perfection is boring. Not to say that things aren't great. They are great here.

Perfection means there is absolutely no room for improvement.

If it ain't broke don't fix it? We can still "Improve" on something that isn't broken. Hey, even the wheel itself has been improved upon countless times itself.

What about us newbies? We want to contribute, yet we wouldn't be able to get access to the "hidden" part of candy shop because we haven't "proven" ourself yet. How can we "prove" ourselves if we don't upload???

Please read the whole thread, especially the part about the dual system. And even newbies would be able to post in the new Candy Shop - they'd just have to ask a staff member to post for them.

I too agree with the two tier system. I've been to other boards that use this method and it seems to work with the exception of a lot of dupes getting posted just to reach the golden point where they have access. It would mean a lot of cross checking for the bosses of the board but I'm certain it could be made to work.
That's my two cents worth.

Would you fight to the death for that which you love.
In a cause surely hopeless, for that which you love.
