The knuckle on my ring finger is f'd up, there is no way to get a ring over it without making it way too large and then coming up with a way to resize it smaller once it gets past it.

I thought it would be uncomfortable, but my gf got me an intermediate ring to try out, and I mostly forget it's there. The important thing is to get a ring that you like and would want to show off. (For me, that includes math and dinosaurs.)

That said, we're not sure if we're gonna bother getting married officially, so it's all symbolic anyway.

I did when I was married. We just had plain silver bands we picked up from a jewelry kart.
