streaming video- how to download ?

hii all !

there are many sites with streaming video clips
these clips are viewed on-line - some by
windows media -

is there a way to download these clips to the hard drive
of my computer ?

hi samantha34f,

there´s indeed a way (or two) to downloading it,
first, you can play the videos in player, then you have to look for your temporary IE Directory and then search for *.mov or *.wmv and so on. Copy and paste the files and you have the video on hd.
the second way you need the mplayer2.exe, finding under
C:\Programme\Windows Media Player\.*,
then you need a 2 tools, "ASFrecorder and WMREcorder" and
with these tools you can record films online.
Search in Google for these tools, there are also some sites
where you can find tuts about ripping

Sometimes you can simply right-click (control-click on mac) the link to the stream and save-as renaming an .asf file to a .wmv file then play the downloaded file....sometimes....

A program that I have found most useful for recording streaming media is called Hi-net recorder. It also records real media streams.

Sometimes they try to hide the source of the strams though so you either have to look at the page source, or us some sniffing software to identify the true source of the media file.
