Unhappy Ebay/Paypal scam =( - 01-03-2007, 07:46 AM

So recently I sold a Wii on ebay and the buyer paid through paypal. Today there was a notice that the buyer got a full refund on his payment, so not only did I lose the Wii but also the payment.

If anyone works for ebay/paypal or has any networking contacts there, please help a brother out =( paypal won't listen to our side of the story.

That sucks psychoshocker13. Sorry to hear that. As for PayPal, there have been many complaints about their methods of business with ebay sellers. PayPal has many problems: following its own rules, charging ebay sellers unreasonable high fees, denying making mistakes, refusal to correct the mistakes made, unwilling to compromise with ebay sellers, etc. If you want, you can either PM me about it or just reply back on here. But unless I know what the problem is, I really can't help you.

Good luck with it tho.

well apparently the buyer reported their credit card stolen so any purchases made were voided (i.e. the paypal transaction)
that's so stupid as hell; such a loophole in paypal pisses me off. I could go buying any shit i wanted and just report my credit card missing.

Oh man, that sucks. So, if the transaction was voided, then shouldn't you get your product back? Or in this case, shouldn't you get your Wii back if the purchase was made illegally? Another question, what did the buyer say to you? I mean did he contact you saying that "he" wasn't the one who made the purchase? You should contact eBay and talk to their customer service about your situation. I mean eBay did buy PayPal, so if there's a problem with one company, then there's going to be another problem with the main company. But yeah, tell the people at eBay your situation. Ebay representatives are much more patient and understanding with both the buyers and sellers than the people who work for PayPal. I mean the least either eBay or PayPal can do is reimburse you for your loss. If you do talk to them, have everything ready. From e-mails to printed transactions or even history of the "illegal" purchase made. Also show them the receipt you got after paying for the shipping and handling of the product. It will be proof that you sent the product to the "buyer." But like I said, call or e-mail them. Good luck and let me know if you need anymore help.

The buyer claimed the credit card stolen, did you send to the verified PayPal address, or a different address? If you sent to the verified PayPal address, then you should be able to prove delivery to the owner of the credit card and either get your money back, or your product back. If you sent to another address not verified, then you are out of luck.

Ebay seems to become more and more of a nightmare, not surprising to me unfortunately. Good luck working that out though.

This man speaks the truth.

If you sent the item to an address other than the buyers registered and verified address, and this happened, then unfortunately you've learnt a valuable lesson the hard way.

People will screw people for what they can get. True story.

If you did send this to the buyers registered address, credit card stolen or not, they will still have received the items and should ship them back accordingly. If they don't, call the police and report a theft.
