I'd like some help - 07-04-2004, 12:55 PM

Can anyone suggest a dvd burning program that is on the market that will allow me to burn video files like: avi, mpeg, wmv to a blank dvd and then play it on my home dvd player? I've tried Nero and I can burn those same files as data files, and can also play them on my computer. But as soon as I try them on my home player.....it does not see the disc. I have no problem ripping pre-recorded movies and burning them to blanks. Am I missing something? Do I need to convert those files to a different format then burn them to a blank?

HELP!!!!

Of Course This Doesn't Work A DVD Player Only Can Play Mpeg2 Or Mpeg Movies And Only If They Are Burned Like A DVD, SVCD or VCD

That's abit tricky.
If you burn DVD's, you have to choose that format which your player can read.
Step by step:
Your player will surely not be able to read wmv files.
Converting to a suitable format will be necessary.
I recomend 'EO Player', cos it can convert any file into mpeg1, mpeg2.
With these formats you can deal.
Use 'TMPGenc' to create your DVD's, it can create any needed DVD format. Choose the format which is seekable by your player (just take the ones that already work with it).

Here is a tutorial for TMPG:

Good luck, buddy!

To EO:
As a personal taste of mine:
It's always better to be used to a coverting program which can convert all files.
EO can also convert .rm and .mov to mpeg2.

Btw, nice guide to TMPG. thank you!
