Ahh... too much to list. Let’s see, amongst other groups and in no particular order:
- Fiction Plane (“… it is a bit disconcerting how much Fiction Plane frontman Joe Sumner sounds like his dad (His dad is Sting by the way). However, put the genes aside and Fiction Plane’s debut, Everything Will Never Be OK, is a surprisingly well-crafted piece of AmeriBritpop.”

- Perfect Circle (“… a melodic version of Tool’s prog metal”
http://www.rocknworld.com/features/2003/a_perfect_circle.shtml Although, I believe they are more alternative than metal.)
- Opeth (Melodic metal, although their latest CD, Damnation, is “between early Pink Floyd, latter day Peter Green era Fleetwood Mac and Radiohead at their more mellow moments.

- Avenged Sevenfold ("... blends stylistic elements of power metal, hardcore, thrash and retrogressive metal to create a sound which is sometimes beautifully clean, crisp, melodic and harmonic, but at other times powerful and destructive.

- 30 Seconds to Mars (“… pretty much an average alternative rock album... Just think of Tool and Deftones but with synthesizers…”.

- The Dredg (I’d say take Pink Floyd and put them together with A Perfect Circle and you’ll wind up with a band like Dredg.
