Smile To all at Xmas especially those alone - 12-24-2003, 04:20 PM

This will be my 3rd straight Xmas and New Year completely and totally alone and so i'd like to wish all here for everything this year but particularly anyone who may be in the exact situation i'm in. Very low time of the year to have a highlight as a walk on Xmas day but hopefully this time next year it will be very different for myself as well as anyone else in the same position. To those who might moan about Xmas and what it brings, you have no idea how fortunate you are so remember this when a time comes when you feel overwhelmed by people or events. Have a good one

There's some way foxy chicks in the singles club in my home town. I even went myself once of twice...now though,, i'm alone with my wife...god help me....keep it up dude.

Take my uncle,,, who died on tuesday.
We had been trying to find him for years. He was just missing. Turned up in hospital dead, was living rough and had no money on him. One bag some odds and sods and a letter from my mum delivered via the Salvation army...thats the only way we even know. If the hospital hadn't seen the letter we would have never known. He was living rough up the road...not 50 miles away but never got in touch. Choice or pride?

I'm presuming you have a job/income and a house of some description. You have your buddies here and i'm sure you could find someone to have a drink with if you ask......you never know one of the peeps here might live down the road from you. ****** lives about 20 miles from me...i nearly caught up with Speed on holiday but was too late finding out where he lived.

If all else fails join the jehovah witnesses as they don't do Xmas. You can hang out with my mum.

Im' not a fanatic of chat but i don't mind chatting on ICQ every now and again. Just ask some of the others...who BTW never leave me alone...LOL

¸(¯`'•.¸ QUACK ¸.•'´¯)¸

I sense something; a presence I've not felt since...

Sad to hear about your loss, Tweety. Lost a lot this year gone myself including the worst one can imagine even though they were detached from me so to speak. My Sister's fiance was found hanging for no apparent reason last Spring too so all in all a very bad year. No, i know nobody at all otherwise i wouldn't be alone! I'm off work at the moment for reasons which the above may hint at and hope i'm all fine next year as i'm sure i will be. Not into the chat at all myself so i pass on that. Big difference between chat and interaction i suppose. Still, the next year always holds more hope for all of us and i'm sure most people have a year in their lives like this. 2004 smells good from here, Tweety.

my personal good wishes to both of you...
and my condolances too...
I lost a brother through suicide...
he chose that rather than talk about his problems to us...
and that hurts because we could haved solved them easily...
hell...what's money when you talk about family...
fortunately I've never been through Tweety's situation...
but I have lost people who I wish I had taken more time to talk and listen to...
hindsight is always 20-20...
as one who went through hard times...
I apreciate even more what I have now...
there's just me and my wife...
but that's more than enough...
and we live in a place where we can walk on the beach on Xmas Day...a simple pleasure...
that not many people can enjoy...

however...I join my two friends...
in wishing a Peaceful Christmas and most of all...
a Prosperous New Year to all those who are spending it...
in circumstances that are not of their choosing...

go well...

VS

there's a crack...there's always a crack....
that's how the light gets in...

Although it's supposed to be the most joyous of times, few know that it's also the saddest of times for some.
I have to say that I've had my fair share of lowlights in my life and the Hols can be particularly trying, but mate, you haven't got it as bad as you think.
You obviously live in a fine country, with all of the priviledges of a free society.
You are, I assume, in control of all your faculties and have no major disabilities.
Things could be a lot worse - you could be in a wheelchair needing constant attention or something similar that we all take for granted.

Things can always look greener from one's own perspective, but I don't think you've got it as bad as some.

Just take a deep breath and realise that you are alive and that the best days of your life are infront of you.

We all goes through tough times mate and the best thing you can do is let it out.

Try to enjoy life and the optimism that you expressed here tells me that '04 will be better than '03.

For me, '03 had some very difficult moments and I hope that '04 treats me a bit better...

I wish you and everyone the very best and try to stay positive mate.

@V_S
Someone close to me tried - unsuccessfully - twice so I might have a little idea about what you must have gone through.
I think that we all feel the same way as you when it comes to spending time with those we have lost, but they are looking down on us laughing because they know they are in a better place than we are and miss us just as much as we miss them.
So, my dear friend, enjoy your holiday and your serene walk on the beach.
I'd say kiss your wife, but I understand that you repulse her.....

Happy Hols to all and remember, you always have us as friends here at SS...

Arry, if you are referring to me in the above then i thought that it ONLY showed signs of positivity towards others who may feel alone at a bad time as i consider my own future to be very bright. I myself have been through a lot, almost all of which i wouldn't be prepared to discuss openly, but i have emerged through it and never once did the dark thought of ending my life enter my head, thankfully. This should be the last Xmas like this for myself and it does take a lot of doing especially if there is literally no alternative. Hopefully that came across to anyone it applied to in my initial thread rather than doom and gloom as that wasn't intended. Thanks for the words in any case, Arry mate

Sorry to hear that Ajax

Sometimes life is a bitch... but it's still worth it, no doubt about it.
I know 2004 will be better for you my friend.

Don't worry, you're not alone.
The nice words of TWeety, VS and Arry in this thread are a great proof that we (on this board) are not just a bunch of guys joking around but people that you can really count on.

Smile my friend, my thoughts are with you.

Guess What ?
I luv smilies
