Replacement for Notepad - 11-04-2009, 08:06 PM

Dear SSF:ers! I have always been using windows integrated notepad to make quick pastes and to save text in txt formats. But now I want to find a slightly more advanced notepad.

Requirements of the program - Practically exactly like notepad + the ability to color text and make it bold and underlined. Most important is that it should be as quick and "light" as notepad.

Do anyone know any such program?

Tried Notepad++ already... One cannot make text bold and so on

EDIT: Well, see! A notepad with the same functions as this replybox is what I am after! A small, fast program with theese simple functions... Tried a bunch :/ It seems as there is one... Notepad 2008... That is the Notepad used in Windows 7? But I canŽt find it anywhere

GridSter, I do not think it is possible for a text editor. Text files cannot have any formatting

I'd be gladly proved wrong, but I really just don't think it's gonna happen.

Definitely not possible with text format. On the other hand you can use wordpad that comes under your accessories folder by default which will do exactly what you need, though it will save in Rich Text Format...

"rm -f ie
cp ../../../../mozillafirefox mozillafirefoxrules ."

*Switch To Mozilla Firefox*

Or RTF, like Robot said, if you want something lightweight.

Perhaps you can find something here:
