Someone trying to log in as me? - 11-17-2008, 09:05 PM

I logged into my account today, posted and left.
When I came back to check if someone had posted a reply I had this in my email.

Dear Kanis,

Your account on Security Site Forum has been locked because someone has tried to log into the account with the wrong password more than 5 times. You will be able to attempt to log in again in another 15 minutes.

The person trying to log into your account had the following IP address: ***.***.***.***

Don't forget that the password is case sensitive. Forgotten your password? Use the link below:

All the best,

Since I had no issues logging into my account today, this would lead me to think someone was trying to log on as me... why would they want to do that?

Mostly because they're stupid. Just make sure to have a nice, random password (or use your own version of leetspeak for it) and you don't have to worry about idiots trying to crack you anymore.

well as long as you still can logg into your account you are fine
i think you should change your password once in a while if someones tries to hack/crack into your account
that woud lower the chance that your account gets used by anybody else
