I have to actively post to not get banned...I wish I didn't have to.

To be exempt from the ban bot, you must pay for gold membership, all gold members are exempt from being banned for inactivity.

Edited by Arizona: or get yourself promoted to staff

I've had a couple of warning notes when I return from holiday. Maybe a space to indicate non-activity could be put in somewhere as it would be a shame to be banned because you couldn't post.

I've had similar issues before on other sites. Be nice if you just went inactive after like a week of not logging in. In my mind, not logging on the site and simply lurking should be treated differently.

Not that I'm interested in the reason you gave up being a Gold Member, but as you now appear to have cancelled donations in cash form, you've reverted back to active status as it states in the payments page.

As such you're now subject to the same processes that other members are.

And the warning bot faq states, no participation = lock out.

lol you should be happy we don't get banned for inactivity with regards to posting passwords... Don't be so quick to complain. Appreciate your membership here.

Is there a way to notify someone so your account won't be banned if say...you go to Africa for a month or two?

Wait, you mean you have to post on a forum!

wow, i got the whole concept wrong

of course you have to post, otherwise you are just there, doing nothing, but then you can request, which is asking for something with no input from you to the site

as Wreck has said

To be exempt from the ban bot, you must pay for gold membership, all gold members are exempt from being banned for inactivity.

will not change sig till blackpool win the champions league ~ 23/03/2009

It is treated different. The bot allows periods of inactivity. You just have to catch up a bit once you're back.

If you know you'll be gone for a few months, just post a thread in the chatter or spam forum. If the bot demotes you, request active status again once you're back and paste the link with your announcement in it. Of course we'll also check your overall participation, but it sure helps if you've been pro-active by letting us know you where gone at forehand.
