Security? That's not it. Everybody uses firefox cause a lot of people say its cool. Just about why lots of people switch to linux and stuff. They might end up liking it, but the initial reason is that one.

Now, i do prefer firefox.. basically for the userass@ feature.. hehe. But for some other things i use explorer.

Nope, that's why people use Apple products. Linux is still a fringe population and say what you want - when I switched Firefox was simply superior to IE. Still is imho.

Fair enough... but u agree with me that some people use things without even knowing why. Best example... the mac. It used to be sooooo superior, that profesionals like graphic designers and sound engineers just HAD to use it. Today, when there is no that big a deal of difference between a PC and a MAC (depending on how much u wanna spend), u still get people choosing mac, for who knows what. Pros, ok, they know what they are doing, but, my girlfriend? Just cause it makes her feel more "sophisticated" i guess. And in the end she only uses it for facebook, hehe.

Back on the firefox issue... u just can't beat the add-ons feature.

Can't stand I.E.

Opera 8 and Firefox 1.0 are both very customisable, both in form and function, though the browsers use opposite approaches. Firefox starts lean, and gives the user the opportunity to add buttons to the toolbar and install extensions. Opera, on the other hand, starts "bloated" forcing users to pare down unwanted options. The result is that Firefox is easier to use for the novice, but less functional immediately post-install than Opera 8

I prefer Firefox as I like the way it is expandable with extensions. Also, since Opera is not an open source product, there is little available in the way of user-generated tweaks beyond "skins" to alter the browser's appearance.

Some advanced users on here I’m sure can hack the browser by editing some of its configuration files. Depends how advanced you are imo

i personally like Safari, the browser from Apple ~ for its speed & user-friendliness. But, in the PC world....firefox wins hands down!!
