anymore, laptops will do everything a desktop will do, and they're portable ... only downside is cost. From now on, I'll probably always get a notebook because I don't play games enough to need the desktop expandibility

I prefer a desktop over a notebook. I'm used to seeing the big screen, keyboard, mouse, and speakers along with the tower while sitting down. I like doing my work (school and job), watching movies, playing games, and listening to music on my desktop. As much as I enjoy using a notebook, it's just something that I never got into. Never really liked having to carry notebooks with me either.

If I needed to bring any files or data with me, I relied on my smart phone. Samsung Black Jack to be exact. If not that, then my iPhone. I only brought a notebook along if I was in the mood to watch movies or play games on a bigger screen. Otherwise, I'd just use my iPhone or BlackJack depending on the situation. So a desktop for me.

I prefer a desktop computer rather than a notebook also. Although a notebook is useful at university for courses like comp sci etc, i would still prefer my desktop, bigger screen, and the fact that the screen is not attached to the keyboard.

I prefer a desktop-replacement laptop. Those can be expensive, but they are semi portable, and are basically desktops. I like laptops because they can be moved around and used basically anywhere, but I like desktops for the reason that they can be upgraded, and generally cost less. I'd get a laptop that has all the upgrades you need, and only get a laptop when you have a few thousand burning a hole in your pocket.

I like a laptop with a dock - so I have the full monitor and keyboard when I want / need it, but I can take my full computer with me, all my files are there, and i can just head out.

Me personally since I dont do a lot of moving around I prefer a normal pc. i have my other reasons as well such as no worries about charging it up, easier to troubleshoot and perform hardware upgrades, and better performance overall

I do a bit of moving around so I prefer a laptop. I would really like to get a desktop in addition for home though because as always notebooks are limited to a point when it comes to upgrades, and if coarse its less money & more power. I really like having my thinkpad with me where ever I go, especially when traveling
